Autocross Buying Guide – Select the Right Car

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 4:48 am

In my experience, autocross can be a very fun and exciting sport. I have participated in several events in my local area. I found the hobby to be very addictive as well.

Out of all my other hobbies, I think this one is the best “bang for the buck” as far as thrills go with your car. Everybody can participate. Every car (some clubs have exceptions to this though like no SUV’s, no Trucks) can race. The nice thing about this kind of race is that you are competing against others in your class usually defined by the SCCA, however, you are on the course alone so there is minimal chance of hitting other cars.

The hardest part about autocross (aside from learning how to race) in my opinion is finding the right car. Sure, you can use a daily driver, but that is not recommended if you are going to participate in several events a year. Autocross can create wear on the tires and other components very quickly and can get expensive very fast. I would recommend to get a vehicle that you can use for autocross. This can be a “trailer car” or a car that you can still drive on the road, but use only for this hobby.

There are 4 key components to consider when selecting a car for autocross:

1) What type of car to get

2) The Price of the car

3) The overall condition of the vehicle (if used)

4) Aftermarket upgrades/modifications

WHAT TYPE OF CAR TO GET FOR AUTOCROSS:

For autocross racing, some people would assume that the car has to be very powerful, small, 2 doors and modified. This is not entirely accurate. While that type of car would be nice, it is not required to be competitive in autocross.

Remember that most autocross events and clubs have the cars grouped in to some sort of class. The club I participate with follow the SCCA Class guidelines. The classes help group the cars so the same “level” of vehicles can remain competitive within each class.

This is done to avoid the “biggest and fastest is best” state of thought. It would be unfair to put a heavily modified Porsche GT3 up against a stock Ford Focus. This is why they do that.

So, to pick the right car for autocross, you would probably want a coupe or convertible FIRST if possible. Sedans can work well too, but some sedans are not geared for modifications, although, the sport sedans of today are really starting to take over.

Manual transmission would be recommended, however, if you have an automatic that is OK too. You may want to consider trading it for a manual in the future to remain competitive. Again, there are still “sport shift” type automatics out there that are getting better and better each day.

Ideally, you would also want a rear-wheel drive car for autocross. RWD cars typically provide better control and handling in most cases. I know some enthusiasts out there will disagree with me, but that’s OK. On the other hand, I have used several front-wheel drive cars that run with the best of them.

PRICE:

The price of buying a car for autocross is always the factor for me. I, like many others, cannot afford an expensive vehicle for autocross. There are, however, those that can afford it and price is still something for them to consider.

The $0-$5000 range.

This is the range most of us beginners want to start. Of course, free is GOOD, but consider the 3rd component (overall condition) when this option comes to mind. Several cars that can perform well and have a lot of upgradable options are the following:

1989-1997 Mazda Miata – Very nice power to weight ratio. It is VERY popular at autocross. 1979-1991 Mazda RX7 – Fast small car, handles well. Many upgrades available. 1989-1998 Nissan 240sx – Several aftermarket upgrades, handles very well. 1990-1999 BMW 3 Series – Very versatile car. You can find very nice models in this range now. 1988-2000 Honda Civic/CRX – I have seen several models compete well in autocross. 1984-1999 Toyota MR2 – Low center of gravity, great performance, mid engine. 1990-1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse/Eagle Talon – Many upgrades, some models Turbo AWD. 2000-2007 Ford Focus – Very competitive cars. SVT models available in price range. 1997-2003 VW Golf – Hatchbacks always like autocross. VR6 models available in range. 1990-1999 Acura Integra – Like the Civic, very competitive with many upgrades out there.

There may be a few more cars that I missed that fall under this price range. The method I use to hunt for cars can vary depending on the type I am looking for. I will use local classified ads, Craigslist. I will also use the bigger car searches and expand my general “hunting” area. I have successfully found great cars using VEHIX, AutoTrader as well as Government Auction Sites.

But what about the autocross cars above the $5000 range? Well, I am glad you are think that because I am about to list them below.

If you have some money to work with and want to get something newer, you can consider the following cars:

The $5,001-$20,000 range:

This range can include newer cars as well as pre-owned cars that are no more than a few years old. Remember, cars usually depreciate very fast, so as the years go by, some of the newer cars can be within reach for less money and are great for autocross. The cars below come to mind in this range:

1998-Current Mazda MX-5 – Still same basic car, but more power as they got newer. 2003-Current VW Golf – Even more modified than the previous versions, compete well. 1992-1997 Mazda RX7 – 3rd Gen is twin-turbo and can compete in autocross. 1992-2006 BMW M3 – M3′s are designed for racing. Some newer models will fall in this range. 1998-2003 BMW M5 – M5′s are very powerful and compete in their class well. 1994-Current Ford Mustang/Cobra – Very versatile car. Competes well in class. 1994-2002 Camaro/Firebird – Competes well in class. Many autocross upgrades. 2007-Current Mazda Mazdaspeed3 – Turbo, hatchback, competes well in autocross. 2003-2008 Nissan 350z – Great autocross car, very popular on the track. Special Autocross Kit cars such as the V6 Stalker fall in this range as well.

Now, this price range can vary in vehicles. A lot of these cars are still new and may require loans to purchase them.

The $20,001 spectrum will consist of some of the current-day models as well as the obvious “super cars” we all respect such as the Corvette, Viper, Porsche, Ferrari, Lotus and others. I will not include a list for those because if you are buying one of those for an autocross car, you did your research.

OVERALL CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE (USED):

When buying a second car for autocross, treat it like when you are buying your daily driver car. You want the car to be relatively free of major problems. Autocross racing can put stress on the car’s frame, the suspension, the brakes, the tire and the overall body of the car.

You want to be sure that the car has not been in any major accidents. Frame repair or frame damage can be very dangerous mixture when you autocross. That is the MOST important thing to check for when buying a car for autocross. I have experienced and used the service by Experian called AutoCheck. They offer an unlimited number of VIN checks for one of their service options and the price is way better than the other services out there. I have used it when shopping and comes in very handy when you are checking the history of a vehicle.

The next important item to check on the car is major component problems such as smoke coming out of the back of the exhaust, major oil leaks (small leaks are expected on most used cars) slight/major overheating of the engine. Autocross is outside and you push the car to the limit. You want the major components to be in the best shape they can be. The mentioned problems can leave you stranded at the track if you do not look out for them.

I usually have some expectation to do minor repair or preventive repairs on my vehicles when I am buying to autocross them. As I stated above, small oil/fluid leaks are “OK” and can usually be fixed very easily. Small leaks tell us that the car is just used and may not be suffering from the leak as a result. Large/major leaks tell us the car may have been neglected by the previous owner and may carry residual problems unseen at the moment. When looking at a car, start it up, drive it around with the A/C engaged (even if it doesn’t work). When you are finished with the test drive, leave it idling while you walk around the car continuing to inspect it. If the car has an overheating problem, often this is the time it will show. This tip has helped me avoid several beautiful autocross cars that had an overheating problem.

Belts and hoses are my most frequent “preventive” repair I do, even if they are not a problem. It is always best to know when an important component has been replaced rather than to “guess” and trust the previous owner. Water pumps, too, fall in this category sometimes.

One thing people always check when buying a used car are the tires. Yes, this is important for an autocross car, but not to see how “good” the tires are, but to see if the car needs an alignment. Autocross is about handling and you need to be sure the car’s stock “handling” ability is where it should be.

Why not worry about the tires? Well, tires should be one thing to consider buying for your autocross car to begin with, so the existing tires should be removed anyway. Tires are probably the most bought wear item an autocross member will buy. A lot of autocross racers will bring a set of tires for racing, one for driving home (those who do not use a trailer) and some will even bring spares for the racing tires. This is so common that Tire Rack offers tires just for autocross. I have used them and they are the best place to get tires for this.

AFTERMARKET MODIFICATIONS FOR AUTOCROSS:

If you ever look into the aftermarket world of the auto industry, you know that there are literally thousands of places to look and buy. I will list a few spots that most people do not think to look, but surprisingly have things for the autocross fans.

First and foremost, autocross cars do NOT always need major upgrades to be competitive. A driver can use a stock vehicle and compete against fellow stock vehicles and remain competitive. Once you start to modify or upgrade heavily, you may start to move into different classes and compete with other cars that are equally modified. Keep that in mind when you want to change something.

Usually, I say modify the easy things first: Intake, exhaust and general tune ups. Most autocross drivers do not go far from that. These should be the first things you try to upgrade while you participate in autocross to get the most performance out of your vehicle.

If you decide to go further to be more competitive, my next recommendation would be suspension and body roll modifications. Please remember, certain upgrades in this area may change your class. Be sure to check your club or groups rules with these modifications.

Usually, the fastest upgrade to an autocross car would be front and rear strut tower bars/braces. They are usually inexpensive to buy and easy to install. They are also very modular meaning that when you buy these, they will work with other suspension components in place (usually). This modification helps stiffen the car’s suspension and frame and helps with cornering.

The next modification recommendation would then be the front and rear sway bars and links. These parts also help the body roll while cornering and handling and can sometimes be modular to the suspension system as a whole.

The final suspension upgrade is usually the most expensive: The struts (shocks/springs). This upgrade usually works well with the above items, but ads more stiffness, more response to the handling and sometimes lower the car overall for a lower center of gravity.

Once you have modified the entire suspension, my next recommendation would be to upgrade the brakes (at least the pads). This will help your stopping ability for those moments where a tap of the brake is needed during a lap. Please keep in mind that high performance brake pads usually wear much quicker than OEM.

One of the last things I recommend to upgrade is the tires. Now, I’m not saying that you should not FIRST buy new tires when you autocross, but I am saying not to UPGRADE them to an autocross/race tire just yet. Most autocross enthusiasts will tell you to get used to the stock/regular tires on your car first.

Once you get used to stock type tires, modifying them to a race tire or softer tire will actually improve your lap times (that’s the theory anyway).

One last note. I recommend replacing the fluids in your car with as many synthetics as you can. Synthetic fluids have higher heat resistance and can take the intense moments you will be putting on the car during the autocross laps.

Some of the places I have bought aftermarket modifications and upgrades are from the following: Tires- Tire Rack, General maintenance items/Oil/Filters/Performance, MyAutocross Store, Auto Warehouse

Model and make specific forums are also a great place to find parts for your specific car. Usually people on those forums are experts with that model and are constantly modifying it and selling the used items.

Now that I have provided this information, I hope it is useful to at least one person out there interested in autocross racing. I know when I started I had to learn my lessons the hard way and ended up buying cars that either were no good or were not “for” autocross. Please keep in mind that these opinions are based on my experience and knowledge. I am open to changing or adding items I may have missed. Please comment if you’d like.

Movies at Home – Getting More for Less

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:36 am

Certainly enjoying movies at a theater is a unique experience. From the towering screens to the Dolby Digital DTS sound systems, the wow factor of a theater can’t be matched. However, due to convenience and affordability, enjoying movies at home whether on a PC or a big screen plasma display is the more typical scenario for the majority of movie fans. The options for obtaining and viewing movies at home have certainly expanded in the past decade with the introduction of online movie rental and movie download services in addition to the more traditional offerings provided by local video stores as well as live and pay-per-view television.

For film fans on a budget, enjoying more movie viewing per dollar justifies a quick look at some of the options.

Hands down, enjoying movies on live television, whether cable, broadcast, or satellite TV, is the most economical option. The selection viewers have to choose from is significantly limited by the programming schedule but there is no cost beyond the typical monthly fee for any premium packages. Another cost free method of enjoying movies is as simple as a visit to the local library. Public libraries loan out not only books and CDs but movies on VHS and DVD as well. Although the selection is somewhat limited, the price is right.

Coming in second, online movie rental has the potential to provide more movie entertainment for the dollar than other paid services. As an example, Netflix offers numerous plans but their most popular plan allows users to have up to 3 movies out at a given time for $17.99 per month. If a typical user views only 6 movies in a given month this would average out to $2.99 per movie. The price per movie could potentially be less for those who view more movies throughout the month; for instance the price per movie would drop to $1.99 if 9 movies were watched throughout the month. Making the value of online movie rental services even greater is the huge selection offered; in the case of Netflix, users can select from over 75,000 titles.

Movie download services and renting at the local video store are probably equivalent in pricing. Movielink rental pricing for instance starts at $1.99 and goes upward to $4.99 while many video stores have rentals from $2 to $5. The selection of movies is currently somewhat greater at local video stores; perhaps 10,000 to 15,000 titles to choose from versus fewer than 10,000 with most legal movie download services. However, the future may hold a different picture as online movie download services are providing larger libraries over time as they acquire more films.

A bit more expensive are the pay-per-view movies made available by most cable and satellite TV providers. With costs averaging around $3.99 to $4.99 their pricing is reasonable but can become significantly more costly than other services if more than one or two movies are viewed over the course of a month. In addition, the pay-per-view offerings are often restricted to one or two dozen movies at any given time based on the programming schedule for a given month.

Luckily whether considering movie downloads, online movie rental services, use of the local video store, or pay-per-view, movie fans are able to enjoy the services risk free. Movie download services, video stores, and pay-per-view are charged on a per movie basis with no ongoing commitment to purchase more movies. Likewise, although online movie rental programs charge a monthly fee, services such as Netflix require no commitment to continue the program and no cancellation fees to discontinue.

From live television and pay-per-view to movie downloads, online movie rental, and video stores, movie lovers should be able to discover a movie service that offers the films they love at a price they can afford. Which option best meets their budget will depend on the number of films they tend to view per month and how wide of a selection they need to find the entertainment they want.

Mr. Handyman

First thing Saturday morning I decided to fix the washing machine. This decision had not been reached lightly. The cold water pressure was weak so I had checked with two experts at work (i.e., they had both owned washing machines at one time or another) and determined that it was a sticky solenoid. I grabbed my toolbox and told my wife what I was planning.

Itll be fixed in ten minutes, I explain as I head down to the basement. Meanwhile, she is looking up the number of a 24 hour emergency plumbing service and entering it into the speed-dialing function of the telephone.

Shouldnt I call the plumber? she asks, making it obvious that she doesnt understand men. Of course, she has her reasons – Ive had some bad experiences. In fact, Ive yet to tackle a home improvement project that has actually improved the home.

But today I was feeling confident. I carefully removed every screw from the back of the washing machine only to discover that it still wouldnt come off. So, using the largest screwdriver I could find as leverage, I applied gentle pressure until suddenly there was a god-awful screech followed by two loud snaps and the back of the washing machine flies off like a cork out of a champagne bottle and smashes against the concrete wall with a thud that shakes the house.

I hear the basement door open above me. Should I call the plumber?

We dont need a plumber, everything is going according to plan, I assure her.

Of course, Im not exactly sure what the plan is. The back of the washing machine is filled with enough wires and hoses to launch the space shuttle and I have absolutely no idea where to begin. So I slowly begin removing parts, looking for anything which might remotely resemble a solenoid, which is a cylindrical object which can be magnetized (I looked it up in the dictionary).

Every hour or so the basement door opens. Should I call the plumber?

Finally, with head held low, I humbly tell her, Its time to call a plumber.

Personally, I believe I was on the verge of figuring the whole thing out, but I could tell that she was starting to get nervous. A short time later Mr. Smarty-pants Plumber arrives and views the carnage.

What the hell happened here? he asks in disbelief.

I tell him the only thing that pops into my head. Vandals. Weve been having some problems in the neighborhood.

Must have been a whole gang of them to have caused this much damage, he suggests and I can only nod my head in agreement.

He continues to review the scene of destruction, occasionally muttering Hmmm under his breath. Somehow, I intuitively know that every hmmm is costing me an additional fifty dollars.

Finally, Mr. Overpriced Plumber starts putting everything back together again until, like magic, the washing machine is back in one piece and pushed against the wall.

Exactly what were you trying to do? Mr. Couldnt-make-it-as-an-electrician asks as hes calculating a bill larger than a small countrys gross national product.

I seize the opportunity to show him hes not dealing with just any goober who walked in off the street. The cold water pressure was weak, I explain. Sticky solenoid.

Uh huh, he responds and reaches behind the machine and twists off a hose. He taps the nozzle against the palm of his hand until a black, gooey glob of sludge oozes out. Then, with a final twist, he reattaches the hose.

Your filter was clogged.

The Facts About College Financial Aid

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 10:34 pm

Most American families are offsetting the high cost of college by applying for some degree of financial aid by submitting their FAFSA (Free Application For Federal Student Aid) on or after January 2nd. Unfortunately, this is not a simple process as the college financial aid system is anything but user-friendly. There are an endless number of pitfalls in the application process, and it is far too easy for families to lose some or all of the aid they are eligible for.

Many families fail to even attempt application because they don’t know how to, or they incorrectly assume they are not qualified, or simply because they are intimidated by the complicated and confusing process and all its paperwork. With far more qualified applicants than desks in all of America’s colleges and universities, it is reasonable to expect a system intentionally designed to eliminate all but the most knowledgeable and persistent applicants.

According to a disturbing statistic from the US Dept. of Education, the majority of all financial aid applications are rejected for errors and inconsistencies! As financial aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, the loss of time in the resubmission process results in thousands of dollars of lost financial aid to eligible families who braved the college funding process blindly and alone.

This being the case, what’s a family to do with one or more college-bound students facing as much as $160 to $300 thousand dollars (and still rising), to send their kids to a 4-year college? Many make the mistake of relying solely on the advice of guidance counselors, college financial aid officers (FAO’s), and even their accountants. Sadly, these families are not getting all of the financial information they need and are in for a rude awakening!

Nationally, guidance departments are facing their worst crunch ever, and are overloaded with as many as 800 or more students for each counselor! Budget cuts have added to the problem causing schools to increase the responsibilities of guidance counselors in areas other than guidance, leaving them with even less time for their students – and there is no relief in sight!

Despite these obstacles and to their credit, guidance counselors still manage to effectively advise students in career planning and college selection. However, when it comes to college funding, they come up short in providing the necessary financial information that could save families thousands of dollars!

Counselors have little time and lack the expertise to show parents how to reduce their Expected Family Contribution (EFC), the minimum the federal government determines that each family will pay for any college, based on the information submitted on the FAFSA. Additionally, knowledge of specific legal financial aid strategies and their correct application would help families avoid or reduce an array of assessments that could cost them thousands of dollars for each year their students are in college!

For example, parents are unaware that students have no asset protection allowance. Consequently, students with assets in their own name are assessed by the federal government at 20% for each year they are in college! Thus, a student with $1,000 will be assessed $200 for each year the $1,000 remains in their name. After 4 years, they will have lost $800 in financial aid for having only $1,000 worth of assets! This is tragic as it can be legally avoided – if you know how.

Periodically, guidance departments present “in-house” Financial Aid Nights which focus on filling out financial aid forms and understanding the basics of the process. Nevertheless, year after year, the majority of families applying for financial aid continue to be rejected for filling out their forms incorrectly. Clearly, parents are not getting enough guidance on the college funding process.

Well-meaning guidance counselors invite FAO’s to speak at their high schools, trusting them to put the best interests of the students above the financial interests of their college. By evening’s end, parents are often left with a false sense of security that the college of their choice will award their student its best possible financial aid package. This is hardly ever the case!

Much like frugal employers whose goal is to hire the most talented applicants for the least amount of pay, FAO’s seek the most promising students for the least amount of financial aid. Relying on an FAO to cut your college costs is like expecting an IRS agent to help reduce income taxes! FAO’s can be helpful, but their loyalties are with their schools – not their applicants!

Accountants may offer some assistance, but far too few have experience with college funding. Although they are experts with income tax forms and tax strategies, college financial aid forms and college funding strategies are a horse of a different color. The good-intentioned application of accounting principles to college funding can actually hinder a family’s chances of getting all the financial aid they are entitled to!

There is an endless amount of misinformation on the subject of college funding, and a good deal of it is from so-called reliable sources. Oddly, while many families seek professional counseling for their income taxes, few seek the expert advice of college funding professionals despite the fact that the average cost of one year in college far exceeds the average tax bill!

College funding professionals, a small group of admissions and financial aid experts, offer parents assistance through the college funding process and help families provide their students with the best possible education for the least possible cost. One would naturally assume they are in great demand and buried with invitations to lecture at America’s high schools. Sadly, this is often not the case!

It would surprise and outrage parents to learn that, on a national scale, many guidance departments still refuse the services offered by college funding experts and authors, often stating that bringing in “outsiders” is against school policy, even when such services are offered absolutely free! Thus, every year parents enter the college funding arena without the necessary ammunition to do battle with the system – and severely overpay for college!

Alaska Wild Salmon Are A Real Catch

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: — admin @ 10:29 pm

Alaska is famous for its wild salmon. The flavor of Alaskan salmon depends upon fat content and the environment in which it matured. Alaska’s pure waters and the abundance of natural food give Alaska salmon unparalleled flavor.

Although salmon are caught in Alaska’s pristine waters year-round, fishing season in Anchorage and southcentral Alaska really heats up in late May, when the prized king salmon returns home to spawn in the area’s glacier-fed, freshwater streams.

The remaining four varieties of Pacific salmon-sockeye, coho, chum and pink-are also found in the general area.

Many anglers are now trying to catch what’s known as a “grand slam”-all five species of salmon. Some say an easy way to remember which kind is which is to match them up with the fingers on your hand.

• Thumb-Chum salmon (Dog). The best fishing for this fish is mid-July to late August. Chum salmon have a firm texture, tempting orange-pink color and delicate flavor that makes it a perfect fish for smoking. The average weight is eight pounds and they can grow to be 25 to 27 inches long.

• Pointer finger-Sockeye salmon (Red). Most available late May to early June or mid-July, sockeye salmon are the second most abundant Alaskan salmon species. This species turns from a silvery color to a bright red body and green head as they begin the journey upriver to spawn. Their average weight is six pounds and they can grow to almost three feet in length.

• Middle finger-King salmon (Chinook). The best fishing for king salmon is mid-June to mid- July. The largest species of salmon in Alaska, they are prized for their color, high oil content, firm texture and succulent taste. Average weight is approximately 20 pounds and length ranges from 30 to 40 inches.

• Ring finger-Silver salmon (Coho). With its orange-red flesh, firm texture and delicate flavor, cohos are very popular among locals. The best fishing for them is found in early August to mid-September. Cohos are the second largest of the species, with average weights of 12 pounds, and range from 25 to 35 inches in length.

• Pinky finger-Pink salmon (Humpy). At the height of their run, millions of pinks swim up the freshwater rivers and streams to spawning grounds. Pinks are the smallest and most abundant of the species and average about two to three pounds. The best fishing for pinks takes place in mid-July to late August.

Benefits of Buying Pet Supplies Online

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 6:42 pm

Many families across the country own at least one pet. Regardless of what type of pet it is the pet in a way becomes a member of the family. There are some families that take extra care of their pets with pampering them with pet gifts or pet supplies. Pet owners have a number of options when it comes to buying pet supplies.

Perhaps the most common way that a pet owner purchases pet supplies for their family pet is by visiting their local pet store. Most cities in America have a pet store and large cities may even be home to multiple pet stores. One of the reasons why pet stores are so popular is because a shopper can physically examine each item before purchasing it. This gives many pet owners the opportunity to study the quality of an item before bringing it into their home.

While storefront pet stores are a great place to purchase pet supplies there is another option that may be more convenient for many pet owners. Online pet stores are similar to storefront locations; however, they do.not require leaving home. There are millions of Americans who currently purchase their pet supplies over the internet and there is absolutely no reason why more shouldn’t be because purchasing pet supplies online has an unlimited number of benefits.

As previously mentioned online shoppers looking to purchase pet supplies do not have to leave their home if they are shopping at an online pet store. Purchasing pet supplies online is all about convenience. Pet owners can purchase their much needed pet supplies all in a matter of minutes. This option is very convenient for pet owners or families who may not have the time to regularly visit a pet store.

In addition to convenience, purchasing pet supplies online can also save pet owners money. America has recently been experiencing a major problem with the increase in gasoline prices. Many shoppers are finding it to expensive to drive to their local pet store. This problem is being especially felt in country areas where a large number of pet owners are located. Many cities have a pet store; however, not all towns do. This may mean that a pet owner living in a rural area could be driving a half an hour or more to their local pet store which could cost a decent amount of money in gasoline.

Online shoppers will have to pay shipping costs on the pet supplies that they purchase. This shipping cost can easily be lower than the cost of gas for a trip to a pet store. There are many shoppers who are successful at finding online pet stores who offer free shipping or reduced price shipping on all of their pet supplies. This would make online shopping for pet supplies even more beneficial.

Perhaps one of the greatest benefits to purchasing pet supplies online is the selection of products available. Most retail stores are limited on the amount of floor space that they have which limits the amount of product that they can carry. Online pet stores do not have the same problem because they do not have to physically display all of the pet supplies that they are selling. Most pet owners find it easier to purchase pet supplies online especially when looking for hard to find products.

Of course pet owners can shop wherever they want to; however, pet owners are encouraged to at least give online shopping a try. The selection of pet supplies that can be purchased online for a low cost is amazing and to top it off those items can be delivered directly to your door.

It doesnt matter whether the hotel is in a small city building or a large mansion in the countryside, a spa facility of some sort is always welcomed by guests. Some hotels have their own Turkish Baths where you can fully unwind at the end of the day, or refresh yourself at the beginning of one. Some hotels provide cosmetic services and hairdressers, so that you can look your very best before you step out on the terrace. There are boutique hotels that are geared to offer you a full spa experience, where the emphasis of your stay is on treatments and remedies, sending you home totally refreshed and relaxed.

Dining

Although most hotels have dining rooms, not all of them take dining and great food as seriously as the boutique sector. For these hotels, having a great restaurant is a natural extension of having a great hotel and it is often these restaurants and bars that become favoured hangouts for locals as well as guests. With careful attention paid to the menu and the ingredients, hotel owners know that food is an integral part of any hotel experience and that, in many hotels, it often fails to meet expectations. Thats why so many descriptions of boutique hotels include a full review of the food available; its part of the appeal for guests.

Whatever you want to get from your holiday, a boutique hotel can help you to find it. If you want nothing other than peace and relaxation, just ask for the paper and your favourite drink and spend the morning on the terrace just because all these extras are on offer doesnt mean you have to use them its just nice to know theyre there.

The Importance of Call Centre Staff

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: — admin @ 3:37 pm

Most businesses invest fortunes in any way they think will make their company thrive, from advertising and brand management to environmentally and socially sound operations, but there is one aspect of that latter business trend that is of particular significance. While many consumers familiarize themselves with a company through such general avenues as the ones that are opened by a businesss marketing machine, many more seek a personal connection, and for these people, it will usually be the call centre that will be the first point of call. And while the proliferation of phone and answering equipment has, in theory, rendered this contact more user-friendly, any call centre is only as effective as its staff, and so it pays for any company to invest in treating them right.

Call centres are infamous for exhibiting one of the highest staff turnovers in the corporate world, and this is because dealing with unsatisfied customers on a daily basis can be a gruelling task. Whether consumers are justified in speaking in such a disgruntled way to a fellow human being, the fact remains that call centre workers are the first and often only face these consumers meet, and as such, they are the recipients of any dissatisfaction an individual feels for a particular corporation. And while call centre staff sign on for this sort of treatment when they commit their signature to a contract, it is often not the angry consumer that leads to their resignation, but rather the lack of support they receive from the company they work for.

Corporate social responsibility is a business concept that call centres need to embrace in order to continue to operate in the future. The notion of CSR means that companies aim to operate in a sustainable way, ensuring their continued existence in the future. Advocates of this theory suggest that all of a companys stakeholders be treated respectfully and responsibly, and they recognize that chief among these stakeholders are a companys staff.

Call centre staff perform a difficult job, but it should not be a thankless one. As the first representatives of any business, they perform an extremely important task, and this needs to be recognized, both in terms of financial recompense and in the guise of support from senior management. Without this recognition, the notion of business sustainability suggests that call centres will ultimately become a non-viable way of working, as staff members realize that they can earn more money, and be treated with more respect, elsewhere.

Getting Unexpected Profits With a Car Wash Fundraiser!

Instead of wasting lots of precious time on thinking what’s the best fundraising idea, go with what works. Setting up a car wash fundraiser may not be the most original thing to do, but it has always proven to bring great results. As long as you settle your team on a high traffic area and generate a sound attention-capturing system, the rest practically takes care of itself. Unlike complicated fundraiser event ideas, a car wash is a simple concept to apply. However, you still need some minimum planning.

First things first. Design or have someone design a simple straight to the point flyer that includes the following:

- Purpose of your fundraising group
- Price of the car wash
- Location and time
- Any other information that relates to your cause

In order for you and your team to be extra successful with your car wash fundraiser, you have to squeeze everything you can out of it. For example, while the car washing is taking place you can sell coupons and make an extra profit. If you notice that you can’t handle everything, consider partnering yourself with another group with similar values. Charge an extra fee for additional services such as waxing or vacuuming. Instead of aimlessly standing in the middle of nowhere trying to stop cars, sell tickets several days before the event to ensure a hefty lineup of cars to attend.

Setting up a car wash is no big deal. Your team just has to be prepared to work hard for several consecutive hours during one day. If your group is big enough, it’s better to have two lines instead of one. When it’s time for action follow these four steps:

1. Attract your customers with eye catching signs.
2. Make the sale
3. Wash the car
4. Dry the car

Yes, that’s the beauty of a car wash, pretty much anyone can make it happen. There are several other things you can do to make it even a greater success. For instance, you can offer the car wash for free and simply accept donations. This way you don’t put a cap to your earnings and will probably get the best out of generous people. Also, you can try to get free advertising in your local radio station, magazines or newspaper. Finally, remember to have fun! Having energetic music playing in the background and providing refreshments for your crew stimulates the best performance.

Using A Factoring Service As Alternative Funding For Your Business

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 12:15 pm

Cash on hand and flowing is the absolute bread and butter of any small and growing business. You need cash on hand to meet your payroll, fund development of the business, and even just for day to day function of the business. That flow of cash, though, can be a frustrating pursuit as customers rarely meet payables in time for you to pay all expenses. It is the nature of small business, but that doesnt make it any easier. One solution is using a factoring service as alternative funding for your expenses while waiting for invoices to be paid.

Using factoring service as alternative funding for your company is fairly simple to do. You essentially will be selling your accounts receivable from your customers by taking an advance on a percentage of the cash value of the invoice. Then, once the factoring company is paid, they will pay themselves back, take a fee, and return what is left to you.

When you chose to use a factoring service as alternative funding, you will also be able to have the cash on hand in a hurry. Most companies will give you 80% to 90% of the value of the invoices in 24 hours. That means no waiting for the factoring company either. Getting the money fast allows you to relax and think about things besides the money. When you run a small business, the more problems that can be taken off of your place the better off you are.

Using a factoring service as alternative funding does require an application be filled out. You can do it online or in person. Generally, you will be required to give detailed information about your company, yourself, and your customers. Make sure you have business ID and your social security number ready for credit checks. However, most companies actually do qualify since the loans are backed by the invoices anyway.

Finding a company is easy as well. You can look online and find hundreds of factoring companies available. You can also talk to local financial institutes and banks who often times offer it as a service to their small business customers. Be sure, though, to shop around for the best rates you can get. It is still your money.

Using a factoring service as alternative funding allows a small business to have more control over their invoices. You can factor all or just selected invoices from customers. It allows you to have cash on hand, make payroll, and even cover day to day costs. With your finances under control, you can concentrate on growing and running your business and less on when your customers are going to pay and whether or not you will have the cash on hand in time.

Using a factoring service as alternative funding can be of great value to your small business. Lets face it, cash flow is the key to a successful small business, and yet cash flow is the toughest problem in small business. By funding and turning over much of the responsibility for that money to a larger entity, you can take more time to worry about the next step for your business.

How to Start a Sunglass Distribution Business

Copyright 2006 Jorge Olson

—–Business Overview: Distribute Sunglasses to Convenience Stores, Supermarkets and Clothing Shops full time or part time.—–

—What do you need to get started? #1 You need sunglasses. You cant do it without sunglasses! #2 You could use displays but you dont really need them to start. These are sunglass displays that hold from 12 to 50 sunglasses. They can be quite expensive so you might as well start without them, at least for now.

—How much are the sunglasses? Your cost for these sunglasses is about $1 and you can sell them from $2 to $6 depending on where you are in the country. You also have to consider if its sunny all the time in your town. For example, I live in San Diego where it is sunny even in winter so you can sell sunglasses year round and sell a lot more in summer. On the other hand, its a large city and a lot of people sell sunglasses here. I sold them anywhere from $2.50 to $6.00, depending on the style and the type of store.

—How much money can you make? This depends on how much time you have and how much money you want to make. If you are only working weekends you can only manage a few customers per week. With sunglass accounts you have to visit them once a week to every three weeks, depending on the population of your town, how sunny it is in your part of the world and the size of your customers stores.

This is a good rule of thumb. If you only sell sunglasses you will be able to visit at least 20 stores per day if they all buy merchandise with a maximum of 35 stores per day. This is normal for a route type of business like this one. Believe me, 35 is not a lot of stores. Once you get to your route all the stores are in the same street or a few blocks away from each other.

So lets say that you only work on Saturday and you visit stores once per week during summer. If you sell an average of just 8 sunglasses per store in just 20 stores you will sell 160 sunglasses. If you sell them at $3 a pair, buy them for $1 you will make $2 a pair or a total of $320 for one day of work.

Want to make more? Then work more days! Sell other products, you can easily sell $1,000, $2,000 or more per day and you could make 30% to 50% profit.

—Benefits of selling sunglasses

-You dont really need to buy displays from the start. Many stores already have their own displays. -Sunglasses are very inexpensive and they have a huge mark-up. -If you give good service you will keep customers for a long time. -Sunglasses are small so you dont need a van or truck. You can use your car. -You dont need any storage or office either. You can keep a few hundred sunglasses in a small corner of your house or even in the closet. -Shipping is not expensive because sunglasses are very light.

Cat Behavior 101: Can Cats Really Be Encouraged To Bond With You?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 9:17 am

If you’re a cat lover, listen up, as this special insight into cat behavior may surprise you.

Do you seek your cat’s affection quite lovingly? Well, let’s face it, there are two big questions that have been asked by cat lovers, and others alike. And these are:

1. Are cats really capable of bonding with us?

2. What can we do, as desperate cat lovers, to encourage more affection from our beloved cats?

In other words, can cats be encouraged to relate to us in an affectionate way, and to share mutual companionship, just like their dogs can?

Well, let’s have a look at what could be possible answers to these two deep-rooted questions that have been bugging cat lovers, and dog lovers alike, for decades!

And you’ll get some untold hints on how to better bond with your cat in the meantime!

Well need to firstly look at the very nature of a cat’s very essence, their souls if you will, to give us some clues to answer this question on cat behavior.

When you have an animal that’s been with humans for over 5000 years, there must be something profound that the humans, as well as the cats, are getting out of this relationship. Something that’s keeping them together for so long, and no doubt for eons to come!

Imagine, in say the year 3000, we may have technology to travel through space in luxurious aircraft, and of course, one of the first things that people will want to bring with them is their favorite book, favorite music, and… their cat!

But why is this so? There must be a level of bonding between cats and humans that is beyond that of many other animals, that make us feel so attached to them, want to share our life experiences with them… because our feelings tell us that these feelings goes both ways.

But is this really the case? Do cats use us for food and warmth mainly?? Or is there a level of feeling behind the cat behavior that’s on a higher level than that, and resembles the feelings that we have for them?

These are valid questions. Let’s first have a look at our human emotional responses to our cats.

Our obsession with cats – yes let’s admit it!

When humans first met cats, it was presumed to be at a camp fire. This is not proven, though it is a strong possibility.

Why a camp fire?

Well cats love warmth and probably couldn’t resist sitting around a man-made camp fire. So they sat, appreciating the warmth, and also may have found they don’t have to hunt for. And then the humans were attracted to their cuteness. More likely, it was their kittens that may have clinched this bond. As when interacted, they would have shown cute playfulness, and when nursed, would snuggle up.

Now the question is whether a cat can have snuggling up and playfulness without the emotions of tenderness and enjoyment?

We’ll come back to this in a moment. Let’s take one more example from history.

It was documented 5000 years ago that cats were domesticated into both Egyptian culture as well as Indian culture at roughly the same time. In fact, for period of over 2000 years in Egypt, there was such respect and admiration for the cat, that the penalty for anyone killing a cat, was death.

During this period, a Roman soldier accidentally killed a cat and was nearly lynched by a crowd who witnessed this event. This became a political conflict, and is thought to be one of the events that led to the war between Egypt and Rome!

So, the humble cat has caused all this! An animal causing people to be irrational over them.

But, does the cat reciprocate our feelings?

One example that could help us with this question is from Jeffrey Masson, who wrote The Nine Emotional Lives of Cats. Among his many examples of bonding is where he discovers that his cats will put up with getting soaked, just to be with him:

“Like most cats, mine do not like rain. Yet when Leila, Ilan, Manu and I walk up the hill in the evening in the rain, such is the cats’ devotion that they come with us… it is beyond question that the cats are doing something because they want to… Moreover, since they walk in the rain only when we are there, never alone, the love of our companionship must be a strong component of their pleasure…”

It gets even better. The strength of our bond actually increases depending on the extent that our cat’s range of behavior and emotional responses matches our emotional needs. Some people who really love attention from their cat, and want the full gamut of personality, do find heaven, and so does the cat, when they have for example, a Siamese cat that is able to show a strong desire to lie on their laps for comfort every night, run around like crazy when they play with, and is also slightly neurotic and anxious when there is too much happening…

So there’s some food for thought for you! You know have an insight into the secret workings behind cat behavior, how both humans and cats really feel about each other, and how cat behavior may be linked to their deeper feelings about us, more than we ever thought so before.

Watch out for part 2 of this article, which will be coming soon.

What to do now

In part 2 of this article, you’ll learn specific techniques, but for right now, all I want you to do is to be aware of your emotion when you’re about to communicate with your cat.

When you want to convey a message to your cat, such as “There you are, I’m glad to see you!”, be very aware that you’re communicating with each other on a deep level of emotion. And when you’re aware, your emotional message will come through in your tone of voice and body actions, and the bonding starts…

And once the bonding starts, you can’t stop it, it just gets better!

So begin the process right now. You will be surprised before the next lesson how much your relationship will improve with just this first step.

So go ahead, and practice this on your cat now.

How To Use An Electric Log Splitter

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:36 am

Cutting down trees for either commercial or home use is often a complicated endeavor, since you need to bring the tree down safely, use a chainsaw to trim away the branches, and then cut the trunk into sections. In the past, something called a maul has been used, which resembles a cross between a sledgehammer and a hatchet.

The woodsman drives the sharp end of the maul through the middle of the trunk. The trunk would then be sliced into halves, then quartered, and then stacked and allowed to dry for before being used as firewood.

There is, however, a much better way to chop down trees. An electric log splitter is a piece of heavy-duty equipment that replaces the maul and does the job in much less time. Most electric splitters utilize a rod and piston assembly, often exerting more than 10 tons of pressure

Gasoline-powered log splitters are useful for logging work thats far from a power source. The log splitter can be taken to the site and the logs thrown into a truck for transport. There are also models advertised as being “all season,” usually electric, so that it can be used outdoors in even the worst weather.

All models use a piston to drive the log through a stationary blade. Some models of log splitters that have additional features that prevent the just-split tree parts from falling away, allowing the operator to move the logs around speedily, if necessary, for a second pass.

Although a log splitter is very useful, none are completely safe. Only people with the right training should operate a log splitter, since any object unlucky enough to be between the blade and the log will be hit with 10 tons of force. You cant predict how each log will behave, so there should be a safety zone around the splitter. Helpers can retrieve the individual pieces, but they should stay clear of the log splitter while it is still in operation.

Bootstrap Financing Your Way To Business Success

Do you need to start or grow your business but have little money? Before you look to banks and similar sources of financing, why not bootstrap your way to business success?

A bootstrap is a small loop of leather or other material that is found on the top rear or sides of a boot. The purpose of the bootstrap is to help you pull your boot on.

In business, bootstrapping has come to mean helping oneself without seeking outside help. It means using your own resources to finance, promote, and develop your business.

Here, then, are some ways of financing your own business by using your own initiative and depending less on outside bank financing.

1. Operate a Home-Based Business

Operating your business from home could save you a fortune. First of all, you eliminate the costs of expensive commercial rent, commuting, et cetera.

As well, your business use of home expenses would be deductible for income tax purposes. Since your home is your base of operations, your travel and automotive expenses from your home to clients would be deductible.

2. Accept Credit Cards

Rather than financing receivables and assuming the risk for bad debts, why not accept credit card payments?

3. Drop Ship Products

Rather than financing and stocking inventory yourself, consider drop shipping.

With drop shipping, when you make a sale you contact the manufacturer or authorized distributor who ships the product to the customer with your invoice and shipping label. Advantages include no warehousing, shipping, or inventory costs.

4. Use Your Customer`s Money

Selling memberships, subscriptions, gift certificates, and coupon books are just a few ways of getting your clients to pay upfront. Obtaining advance deposits and retainers from your customers can help finance your business operations and reduce or eliminate the need for bank financing.

5. Licensing

Instead of trying to finance the manufacturing and marketing of your invention, which could cost millions of dollars before you have your first sale, why not license it to a company with the necessary expertise and capital? You will then receive royalties in return for your idea.

6. Other Bootstrap Financing Methods

Aggressively control costs, barter, get extended terms from suppliers, establish strict credit and collection policies and procedures, rent (or lease) instead of buying equipment, buy used equipment instead of new, sell off excess inventory and equipment, obtain free publicity instead of paying for advertising, and do whatever else is necessary to generate cashflow and profits.

In these ways and many others not listed here, you may be able to start and grow your business successfully with very limited capital. Thus, you will avoid having to obtain expensive debt or equity financing.

Many who were unable to obtain financing from any other source have successfully bootstrapped their way to business success.

Electronic Message Boards How To Use Them

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:00 am

When we talk about electronic message boards, there are actually a lot of definitions that may fit to the term. Some people considered the electronic message boards as simply internet forums participated by people working in the electronic field. Others also define the term as those message boards that display messages or announcements for the students in schools; those that display the prices of the items sold in stores; or those that display the hymns for the church people. Well, in this article, I will talk about electronic message boards that are simply internet forums.

There are a lot of electronic message boards or forums available online these days. These forums primarily serve as a great place for people who share the same interest in electronics to meet and chat, and make friends. Also, the electronic message boards are a great place to learn. It is where the newbies and the experts in the field of electronics exchange thoughts, comments, advices, or recommendations. And, what makes it really a great place to learn is that you can post questions about machinery, equipments, and components for the electronic industry, and receive answers from the expert members of the board. You may even meet people from different areas in the world through these electronic message boards.

So, the question is, are you interested to find at least few of the well-known and safe electronic message boards to discuss everything electronics? If your answer is affirmative, then this page is no doubt for you. I have mentioned below a few of the most visited electronic message boards online.

Instrument Design Forum

This is the community that discusses issues and techniques relating to the electronics and physical details of designing instrumentation. Perhaps what is best about this electronic message board is that when you post a follow-up on the existing threads, their system will automatically send a notification to the person you reply to. Your follow-up therefore will not be missed, even if you post it long after the original message was posed. And, since this forum now contains a lot of messages, you are suggested to use to their site search for you to find those topics that you are interested to, thus saving your time.

Electronics Manufacturing and Automation Forum

This place is but a discussion forum designed for all those who are interested in electronics factory automation and process aspects. The discussion threads contained in this electronic message board were first opened in year 2000, and the threads are still open up to these days. Therefore, you can post follow-ups and make contribution to the knowledge base contained in the archives.
Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems Forum

Another well-known electronic message board is the Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems Forum (MEMS). What actually sets this forum unique from the other electronic message boards online is the fact that it limits its coverage on topics about polysilicon sensors, actuators, and microstructures. However, the members of this board can also discuss about bulk and surface micromachining technologies, fabrication process, and physical principles. Note that electronic message boards that tackle these topics are only few these days.

Fashion Models – Start Your Engines

How to Promote Yourself as a Freelance Model

If you would rather promote yourself …

Some models would rather promote themselves instead of listing through an agency. Nothing wrong with this but it does require more work on your part.

If your are signed with an agency, they promote the business, they talk to the clients in your behalf, they set up the shooting dates, they take the heat if you don’t make it to the session, etc.

But, there are many models who are “loners” in the pool of modeling and want complete control over who they work with and why.

If you are one of these models, read on …

There are several ways to promote yourself. I will try to mention some ways for you to promote your modeling talent and a step by step format to follow.

First things first ..

In self promotion, the first step to take is putting together a professional portfolio.

Once you’ve followed the portfolio guidelines from above, it’s a good idea to have comp cards and business cards made.

A) Business Cards – Your business card should have as much information on it as possible. It’s not expensive to have extra words listed and this way you can include things other than the name and phone number.

For best results and at just a little extra cost, I would suggest putting your photo (preferably a headshot) on the card. People don’t tend to throw away photos as quickly as they do just cards. Below the photo (or on your card if you choose not to include the photo) you should list ..

Your name, contact phone number, email and don’t forget to put your web address on the card
You may want to also include in bulleted form your attributes (i.e. height and weight), special skills and the type of modeling you specialize in (your modeling strength area)
B) Composite Cards – You’ll definitely want to get composite cards (comp cards) made to hand out to possible clients / agents and to leave with clients or photographers you work with. A comp card is one of the least expensive pieces of printed promotional material but packs a big punch in saying, “I’m a professional model”.

Here is a basic layout of a comp card ..

Front – Photo covering the front of the card (I suggest a good, strong headshot here) along with your name in bold letters.

Back – From four to six photos showing different looks (indoor and outdoor) in a variety of outfits with at least one good body shot (swimwear or tight-fitting clothing).

The back of the card will list important information about you and your stats including …

Contact information (Who to contact, phone, email, web address, etc.)
Height
Weight
Bust size / cup size
Waist size
Hip size
Dress size
Shoe size
Hair color
Hair length (short, shoulder length, long)
Eye color
Type(s) of modeling jobs preferred (i.e. commercial, fashion shows, catalog, promotional, etc.)
No need to feel overwhelmed with the details of getting your comp card ready. There are many companies online such as CompCard.Com who have versions and templates online which will help you every step of the way.

Remember too that there are many different versions of comp cards so it’s all a matter of personal preference as to which style you choose.

C) Modeling Websites – When it comes to websites, I could probably write complete chapters on the subject but I will try as best I can to simplify this part.

Your website – Paid or Free?

Should you pay to have your own website created or go with one of the free web listing services online? Your choice in the type of web promotion you do depends upon your level of experience and the amount of budget you have to work with.

If you are, in actuallity, an eccentric millionaire and are just pursuing modeling out of boredom, by all means hire a professional web designer and start from scratch to build a website that other models will be in awe of! But, even if you go this route, there’s the promotional costs and time to think about; time that could be better used to improve your modeling abilities and make contacts with clients who need you for their photo projects.

I personally feel that it’s better to start but using a few of the online services (paid and free) to get your name out there. You can do a search and find many listing places but two sites that seem to have lots of buzz at the time of this writing are ..

One Model Place & Model Mayhem

Both of these sites offer a basic free package or a paid premium package. Either way, this is a less expensive way to get your feet wet and find out if you’ve got a look which is in demand.

——————————————————————————–
A word of warning about putting your model photos online

Remember to stay safe when placing your photos online. Don’t provide too much personal information about yourself or location untill you’ve thoroughly checked out the person who is contacting you.

If you are under 18 years of age, put your parents’ email address in the contact section and have them deal with any incoming offers.

Never, Never meet a photographer or potential client alone. Take a parent or friend (preferably male) with you untill you are completely satisfied that you’re in a safe environment. I cannot stress this enough!!

——————————————————————————–
There are other ways to promote yourself on or off the Internet such as contacting local upscale clothing or department stores for fashion shows or catalog work, jewelry stores if you offer hand modeling, hair salons, etc.

This is your starting point in becoming a real model. See if you can come up with more creative ways to promote yourself as a professional model.

Remember, you can have the most awsome beauty & talent in the world but if nobody knows where to find you … It’ll all be in vain! So, get off your backside and go to work!!

Mental Illness Delaying Inner Peace

When a person goes through life living with mental illnesses, it often delays them from gaining inner peace. To all the mental ill patients in the world, I recommend you read all the FREE information available to you regarding your diagnoses, and learn to accept what you cannot change.

Sure, you are saying to your self easier said than done. Some of you might say this writer has no idea what she is talking about, or has no idea what I deal with in my mind. Wrong. I do have an overall idea of most mental illnesses, studied human behaviors my entire life, and lived and dealt with more mental ill persons than the average bear.

Thus, learning about what you are suffering can help you find inner peace. When a person knows what they live and who they are they often feel peace of mind. Furthermore, when a person learns to accept what they have and what the person cannot change, they often find inner peace.

Countless of people today are diagnosed with Bipolar and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder-ADHD. The two major problems touching the world today are affecting millions worldwide. To help you understand these diagnoses, if you are suffering, you must first realize that both Bipolar and ADHD are missing chemicals or faulty functions in the brain, which cause the symptoms to occur. Thus, you are not mentally ill; rather you have a need within the brain that requires restoration, which will provide you peace of mind. Still, mental ill does not mean you are crazy, rather it means your mind functions differently than other minds do.

Paranoid Schizophrenics often believe they are crazy and never learn to accept self. Unfortunately, this is one of the largest diagnoses that make it difficult for others to help them find inner peace. Still, it is a fault of the mind, since the Twin in the brain is faulty. Therefore, the mind is off balance, which creates the symptoms.

Other mental illnesses such as Oppositional-Defiant Disorder-ODD are common in society and rob individuals of their true inner peace. ODD is a dangerous disorder left alone, thus to obtain inner peace something has to give in the mind, and medications are needed to control the persons mind. ODD patients tend to act out defiantly under rule, and often fail to adhere to authority, at the same time the person acts out violently when emotions are threatened. Therefore, the person will need medications, and after spending hours with a few of these patients, I noticed a major overlook on experts part. Thus, many of these patients tend to have a medical deficiency that creates this reaction, which includes the hormones and thyroids.

Mental illnesses such as psychopathic tendencies, traits, or personality disorders exist in our society. To find inner peace for these people is next to impossible, since they lack the ability to show compassion, consideration, respect, et cetera to others rather than self. Many of these types self-worship and human creation has no value. Thus, to find inner peace while suffering this disorder is going to take the will of the person to seek out medical care, including thorough testing to determine if the hormones and thyroids play a part in the faulty ailment and will take determination to control the mind, which brings us to a problem?

Most people with these types of mental illnesses cannot benefit from mental health advice. Therefore, to find inner peace the person alone is going to need to come to terms with reality. This diagnoses, while experts claim is not incompetence or else insanity might need to re-assess the diagnosis. There are tips for helping such mental illnesses coming in the near future, but until learn to accept, and learn to control your behaviors to find inner peace.

For the most part, nearly all mental ailments have a resolve to find inner peace. Again, learn, accept, and grow to help you find your inner peace of mind. It is essential to take care of your health and mind when suffering mental ailments to find inner peace.

Writing A Great Resume!

If you are looking for a job, then it is very important that you understand how to offer yourself in the best way to an employer.

This is done by writing a ‘CV’ (curriculum vitae – Latin for ‘life story’), called in some countries a ‘resume’.

Different countries may have different requirements and styles for CV resumes. So you must follow the correct practice for your culture and country.

What IS a resume?
A Resume is a self-promotional document that presents you in the best possible light, for the purpose of getting invited to a job interview. It’s not an official personnel document. It’s not a job application. It’s not a career obituary! And it’s not a confessional.

What Contents within the Resume?
It’s not just about past jobs! It’s about YOU, and how you performed and what you accomplished in those past jobs–especially those accomplishments that are most relevant to the work you want to do next. A good resume predicts how you might perform in that desired future job.

What is the fastest way to improve a resume?
Remove everything that starts with responsibilities included and replace it with on-the-job accomplishments.

Most common resume mistake made by job hunters!
Leaving out their Job Objective! If you don’t show a sense of direction, employers won’t be interested. Having a clearly stated goal doesn’t have to confine you if it’s stated well.

What’s the first step in writing a resume?
Decide on a job target (or job objective) that can be stated in about 5 or 6 words. Anything beyond that is probably fluff and indicates a lack of clarity and direction.

Chronological resume or a Functional one?
The Chronological format is widely preferred by employers, and works well if you’re staying in the same field (especially if you’ve been upwardly-mobile). Only use a Functional format if you’re changing fields, and you’re sure a skills-oriented format would show off your transferable skills to better advantage; and be sure to include a clear chronological work history!

What if you don’t have any experience in the kind of work you want to do?
Get some! Find a place that will let you do some volunteer work right away. You only need a brief, concentrated period of volunteer training (for example, 1 day a week for a month) to have at least SOME experience to put on your resume. Also, look at some of the volunteer work you’ve done in the past and see if any of that helps document some skills you’ll need for your new job.
